【摘要】:Thisguideprovidesrecommendationsforwritersofuserrsquo;manualsandotherdocumentsforcomputersoftwarepreparedforscientificandengineeringcomputationsinfiremodelsandotherareasoffireprotectionengineering.Theguideprovidesinformationthatcanbeincludedintermsofthreetypesofdocuments.Thisguideisintendedtoassistintheunderstanding,usage,transfer,conversion,andmodificationofcomputersoftware.Iftheoptionsandinstructionscontainedinthisguideareconsideredwhendocumentationisprepared,thesoftwareshouldbeusedmorereadilyforitsintendedpurposes.Theuseoffiremodelscurrentlyextendsbeyondthefireresearchlaboratoryandintotheengineering,fireservice,andlegalcommunities.Sufficientdocumentationofcomputersoftwareforfiremodelsisnecessarytoensurethatuserscanjudgetheadequacyofthescientificandtechnicalbasisforthemodels,selecttheappropriatecomputeroperatingenvironment,andusethesoftwareeffectivelywithinthespecifiedlimitations.Adequatedocumentationwillhelppreventtheunintentionalmisuseoffiremodels.AdditionalguidelinesondocumentationcanbefoundinANSI/ANS10.3andANSI/IEEE1063.ANSI/ANS10.2and10.5provideguidelinesforprogrammingtoeasetheportabilityofthesoftwareandmeetuserneeds.1.1Thisguideprovidesinformationthatshouldbeindocumentationforcomputersoftwarepreparedforscientificandengineeringcomputationsinfiremodelsandotherareasoffireprotectionengineering.1.2Theguidelinesarepresentedintermsofthreetypesofdocumentation:(1)technicaldocument;(2)user''smanual;and(3)installation,maintenance,andprogrammingmanual.1.3Therearenonumericalvaluesstatedinthisstandard.ItisrecommendedthatSIunitsbethestandardinthedocumentationanddevelopmentoffiremodels.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.5Thisfirestandardcannotbeusedtoprovidequantitativemeasures.
